A pancake is a hot flat cake, small, thin and round, very fluffy and light in texture, prepared from a batter that contains white flour, eggs, milk, butter, sugar and baking powder and can be cooked on frying pan, by using butter or oil. It can be served at any time of the day but most people considered taking this in a breakfast. Almost every child of America love pancakes in their breakfast. Pancakes serve a same function to waffles. It is extremely easy to prepare with few common ingredients.
Diabetic people avoid adding sugar into it. It is served with different kinds of toppings according to your taste. Children can add maple syrup or honey over it and a side scoop of ice cream. Most people like to add strawberries and other berries as a topping to make it rich in nutrients. Chocolate lovers add Nutella or chocolate spread as a topping. Weight conscious people add peanut butter as a topping.
You can also vary the ingredients to increase its nutritional value, for example replacing of white flour with the whole grain wheat flour. Adding nuts into your toppings will increase its nutritional value as well. It is all about the right choice of foods you can add to get all the required nutrients.
- 2 Cups: All-Purpose Flour
- 2 Tablespoons: Sugar
- 1 Teaspoon: Baking Powder
- 1 Pinch: Salt
- 1 Cup: Milk
- 1: Egg
- ¼ Cup: Oil
- Butter: For Frying
Take one empty bowl and add all ingredients like sugar, salt, baking powder and flour. Mix well all the ingredients.
Secondly, add other ingredients like egg, milk and oil. Mix all the ingredient together until properly mixed.
Now add butter and a half cup of batter in a pan and let it cook on normal heat.
At the point when you see bubbles on the highest point of the pancake, then flip it and cook it for 1 to 2 minutes.
