If you are done eating the regular tortilla every day and want some twist in your everyday breakfast, here’s the recipe you need to learn. Things you need:
For the dough:
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- Salt to taste
- ½ cup oil
For the filling you need:
- Mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup of finely chopped coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
- 1 tea spoon of black pepper
- 1 tea spoon of mixed herbs.
Steps to follow:
In a bowl add the coriander, black pepper, salt, mixed herbs and cheese and mix them well to make a consistent flavored cheese.
Prepare the dough and knead it well.
Take ball sized dough and with a rolling pin flatten it. Add some oil on the flattened dough and spread it evenly on the dough. Take some all-purpose flour and sprinkle it on the flattened dough. Fold it like into strips stacked on each other and join it again to make a ball again.
Flat the ball again. Add the cheese filling prepared earlier and role it again into the shape of a flattened bread.
On a heated flat pan (tawa) spread the dough and let the lower side cook. Add oil to fry both the sides.
Fry till the time you are sure that either of the sides is cooked properly and crispy golden brown.
Your cheese tortilla is ready to eat now. Serve it with any sauce you like and enjoy your breakfast with a twist. If you are conscious about the diet go for low fat cheese but at the end of the day when you are eating a tortilla you need to have the heart it takes.
